Rizza's Reflection " The Chambered Nautilus" by Oliver Wendell Holmes

"The Chambered Nautilus" focuses on the various stages of life and the importance of making progress by moving on from what one previously knew. In a sense, the poem is an elaboration on this idea, because it focuses on the concept of sealing off one's previous boundaries to create new and larger spaces in which to live and develop.Nautilus shell is shaped like a spiral and grows as the animal grows and moves to new chambers of its shell. As we go through the cycles of life we should strive to continually improve ourselves making each new phase of our life better than the last.
