Reflection (Maureen)

SILAS MARNER
This was written by George Eliot. It tells something about the unconditional love and positive way of living. The deep faith in God is also emphasized by the author. It is also concerned with the relationship between the individual and society. I admire Silas for showing unconditional love to his orphan despite being accused in robbery.

PARADISE LOST
This poem of John Milton tells something about man’s first disobedience, our lives as sinners, and God’s undying love. This reminds us of God’s love no matter what. This also tells on how Adam and Eve pulled away from the paradise because of disobedience and how God conceived them.

I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD
This poem was written by William Wordsworth. This focuses on how crucial nature is. The author voiced out here how he appreciates the beauty of nature as one of the wonderful gifts from God. To make those beauties of nature worthwhile, we – the creations of God as well as the co-creator must be responsible for taking care of it.

THE CHAMBERED NAUTILUS
I couldn’t comprehend what this poem says, but I think it reveals the life of the mollusk inside its shell. The author might want to compare the characteristics of mollusk and its shell to humans on their purposes and way of living.
